Work Days 2010

Work days are at the heart of Capitol Water Trails' mission. These work days include a variety of duties, from pulling logs from the bottom of a stream to picking up trash along the shoreline. All these tasks involve ensuring clear access for paddlers and maintaining a clean, healthy environment for plants and wildlife. There are no skills required to attend a work day however we'd suggest that you wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a canoe, you're welcome to bring it along. It may or may not be needed, depending on the number of volunteers present and what jobs we're trying to accomplish for the day. We'll be happy to provide trash bags, rubber gloves, cold water, and a rewarding experience.

  • Meet 9am – Langer Park Canal Road, Marshall.
Sunday, May 2 Maunesha River
  • Meet 9am – Langer Park Canal Road, Marshall.
Saturday, May 15 City of Madison Parks/Mallards Baseball
  • Duck Dash Tenney Park Noon til 2PM
  • Fundraiser for Goodman Pool Scholarships/Paddle and rubber duck grab, for a good cause!
Sunday, May 16 Six Mile Creek Volunteer Day
  • Meet at 9am – Hwys. M and K Westport.
Sunday, June 13 Yahara River Deforest
(Take a Stake in The Lakes)
  • Meet 9am – Main St. bridge in DeForest.
